Sports, gyms and swimming in Amman: passes, prices and planning

Compare a day pass with a membership, see published Arena sports prices and pool sessions, and plan travel, equipment and access before joining.

Try the journey and the activity before buying a long membership. A facility can have the right equipment and still be awkward to use between classes. Check when you can actually train, how the pool timetable works and what the full visit costs after transport.

An Abdoun option for gym and group classes

QuickSand Gym lists its location at 61 Prince Hashim Street in Abdoun. Its website gives opening hours of 06:00 to 22:00, with Fridays from 09:00 to 17:00, and describes open-gym training and group classes including strength, cycling and mobility. Use its facility information to choose the type of session you want.

The membership enquiry page includes student-discount and package enquiries. Ask for a written quote for your dates, the sessions included and the evidence needed for any offered discount. Compare that arrangement with Arena’s published day entry below, including the return journey for each location.

A published day-pass option on the Al-Salt Road

Arena Complex at Al-Ahliyya Amman University publishes individual memberships and a day-entry price. Its location is on the Amman to Al-Salt Road, so this is a separate outing from Jabal Amman. Do not confuse this university with German Jordanian University (GJU), whose Jabal Amman campus is the focus of our student guide.

These are the complex’s membership and activity prices. Ask reception which facilities your chosen purchase includes, how reservations work and whether any equipment or registration charge applies. A court-hour price should not be assumed to include a general day pass or equipment hire.

Understand the pool sessions

The published pool timetable separates women’s and men’s sessions. Women’s sessions are Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 08:30 to 14:30, and Saturday, Monday and Wednesday from 15:00 to 21:00. Men’s sessions use the opposite morning and afternoon pattern. Confirm the session for your intended day before travelling.

The university describes an indoor pool and a children’s pool, with membership arranged through the reservation and subscriptions section. Its pool information explains the process. Contact [email protected], +962 5 350 0211 extensions 2030, 2031 or 2032, or the listed mobile contacts +962 78 774 6108 and +962 78 774 6103 for booking and access questions.

Compare the purchase with your real attendance

At the listed rates, seven 10 JD day entries total 70 JD, the same headline amount as a one-month individual membership. That comparison is useful only if the membership includes the facilities and sessions you intend to use. A longer commitment also needs to fit the dates you will be in Jordan.

For a semester, mark examination weeks, trips and the departure date before choosing a package. Ask about freezing, cancellation and the start date of the membership. The semester checklist helps you put those commitments on the same calendar.

Questions to ask any gym or pool

  • Does the pass include the gym, pool, classes or only one activity?
  • Which sessions can you attend, and does an activity require a separate reservation?
  • Are towels, lockers and equipment included or charged separately?
  • What clothing, footwear, swimming cap or other equipment is required?
  • How does a beginner book instruction, and what is the maximum class size?
  • What happens during maintenance, a closure or a cancelled class?

Describe any access requirement in concrete terms: steps from the drop-off, changing facilities, the pool approach and assistance needed. Request an answer for the actual facility you will use. A broad description of the complex does not answer whether your chosen route is accessible.

Include the journey in the cost

Use the taxi and ride-hailing guide or Amman transport overview to plan both directions. If a hypothetical 10 JD day pass requires 8 JD of total transport, the outing becomes 18 JD before anything else. The transport figure is a budgeting example, not a quote for the Arena journey.

If friends share a vehicle, agree the return time before booking the activity. A group may need different pool sessions or may finish training at different times. Keep those details separate from the membership decision.

A lower-commitment routine between paid visits

A manageable walk or a public park visit can fit the gaps between booked sessions. The parks guide and walks from Jabal Amman help you choose a route. Use a pace and activity that suit your own needs, and get appropriate professional advice for an injury or a medical concern.

For people considering apartments for rent in Amman for students keeping an exercise routine, the owner offers four Jabal Amman apartments by room or as an entire apartment. Confirm the address, then compare the actual journey to the activity. No gym or pool access should be assumed to be part of the rental agreement.
