For a planned appointment, book the clinician, building and payment arrangement together. A hospital name does not identify every outpatient clinic, and a pharmacy’s map listing does not establish that your medicine is in stock. A short telephone call can settle both before you make the journey.

Book through a named facility

Al Khalidi Hospital’s customer-care number is +962 79 099 8227 and its switchboard is +962 6 464 4281. The main hospital is at 39 Ibn Khaldoun Street, Fourth Circle. Its contact page says the team can arrange appointments and provide the visit schedule.

The hospital separately lists outpatient clinics in Building 2 at 43 Ibn Khaldoun Street. The listed clinics include paediatrics, urology, gastroenterology and liver care, pulmonary care and other specialties. Ask which clinician is appropriate, then obtain the exact building, floor and room for your booking. Building 2 clinics and address.

When booking, give a brief reason for the visit and ask whether you need a referral or earlier reports. State your preferred language and any mobility or communication requirements. Ask whether a companion or interpreter can attend if you need one; do not assume a particular clinician’s language from a general English-language website.

How to ask about a regular medicine

Use the generic medicine name, strength, formulation and prescribed quantity. For example, distinguish a tablet from a liquid and a particular strength from another product with a similar name. Have the prescription or clinician’s letter ready to show the pharmacist. Ask what prescription is required locally and whether a prescriber needs to review the request.

Tell the pharmacist about relevant allergies and other medicines. Do not choose a substitute solely because the packaging looks similar. If a product is unavailable, ask the pharmacist and prescriber about an appropriate alternative and how to obtain it. Arrange this before your existing supply runs out.

What a consultation quote should explain

Cost itemQuestion to ask
Initial consultationWhat is the charge for this clinician and appointment type?
Tests or imagingAre they separately charged, and is approval needed before proceeding?
MedicinesAre they purchased separately, and which pharmacy or network arrangement applies?
Follow-upIs a review included, within what period and for which purpose?
InsuranceIs this specific clinician and service in the current network, and what will you pay yourself?

Request the price in Jordanian dinars (JD) and keep the quote with the booking. The total can change when the clinician orders an additional service, so ask for the charge and insurance process before planned tests. Keep an itemised receipt rather than only a card-terminal slip.

University or employer coverage

German Jordanian University (GJU) students should obtain the current referral and insurance instructions from Student Services. The university’s student-services information describes using the student identity card in its care arrangements. Confirm how that procedure applies from Jabal Amman; a reference to the university clinic in Building E is not a clinic address beside Rainbow Street.

For a non-governmental organisation (NGO) assignment, ask the medical administrator whether you book directly, use an assistance provider or need prior approval. Keep your policy number and contact details available. The insurance guide explains the distinction between a provider accepting an insurer and your own treatment being covered.

After-hours care and urgent changes

An ordinary pharmacy or clinic booking should not delay emergency help. Call 911 for a medical emergency. Al Khalidi publishes a 24-hour emergency department; its emergency ambulance hotline is +962 79 199 0199. Hospital emergency-service information. The urgent-care guide explains what to tell dispatch and which records to keep.

After a planned visit, save the report, prescription and next appointment. Keep the clinician’s follow-up contact and ask how results will be delivered. For rooms for rent in Jabal Amman for students arranging everyday healthcare, the owner offers four apartments by room or as a whole apartment. Confirm the rental address and use the access and transport checklist to plan the journey to your chosen clinic.
